What Is the Warranty on Invisalign?

Hi, I’m Dr Miff, one of the gentle dentists from Dental House Group.

Last Wednesday, I had a new patient, Samantha from Plumpton, who came in for a smile consultation. She was unhappy with the crowding of her teeth, so I recommended Invisalign for her which is our preferred clear aligner therapy.

One of her questions for me was, What is the warranty of my Invisalign?

  • Invisalign is a significant investment, and this is a great question to ask. So I thought I’ll make a short video answering this question, just in case you are also thinking of getting Invisalign to realign your teeth.
  • After any orthodontic treatment whether it’s braces or Invisalign treatment, any procedure where a tooth is moved, the tooth needs to be held in its new position. On completing your Invisalign treatment, we will provide you with retainers which are an appliance that hold your teeth in place. To avoid relapse you will need to be committed to wearing these retainers.

At Dental House, we offer Invisalign as our preferred clear aligner therapy treatment. If on the odd chance relapse occurs despite using your retainers, this may be managed as part of your complete treatment. The time frame will depend on your package.

With Moderate packages, it allows treatment of relapse if it occurs within 3 years from starting your Invisalign treatment. Whereas for Comprehensive packages, there is a 5 year time frame from start of treatment.

Ultimately though, it is crucial that the retainers stay in place day and night for 6 months immediately after completing your Invisalign journey. Long term they need to be worn every night. This is your most sure way of avoiding relapse. I tell all our patients retainers are for life and without them we cannot expect our teeth to stay in position.

I hope this gives you a better understanding on the warranty of Invisalign. If you are looking at realigning your smile with Invisalign, we would love to help. Simply give us a call on 1800GENTLE, DM us in social media, or complete the form on our website, and we will help you organise your consultation. Bye for now.
