How Long Does the All-On-4 Implant Surgery Typically Take?
Hi, I’m Dr. Fong, the founder and principal dentist of Dental House Group and AO4 Implants.
Last Tuesday, I saw a new patient, Peter from Bacchus Marsh. Because he had a very traumatic experience with a dentist when he was young, he hasn’t seen a dentist for over 50 years. As a result, his teeth are now in a very bad condition.
He came in to see us for an All-on-4 consultation. During his appointment, he asked me: “Hey Fong, if I decide to go ahead with All-on-4 implants, how much time should I expect to be in surgery?”
Since the duration of the procedure is often a point of concern, let’s dive into it.
The All-on-4 implant surgery can differ in length based on various individual factors, including bone quality and the need for additional procedures like tooth extractions. However, a standard All-on-4 surgical procedure usually takes about 1 to 2 hours per arch. Or 3-4 hours for double arch.
The surgery is broken down into several key stages, including anesthesia, removal of any remaining teeth, jawbone preparation, implant insertion, digital impressions, and the attachment of the temporary teeth. Each of these stages has its own timeframe, but generally speaking, they add up to around 1 to 2 hours per arch.
We understand that your time is valuable, and you need to plan ahead. That’s why we will give you a precise schedule before your surgery day. This way, you can plan your day, knowing exactly what to expect.
Here at Dental House Group, we have purpose-built General Anesthetic facilities. We offer flexible payment plans, and one of our treatment coordinators can guide you through the process of applying for an early release of your super, so you can get your smile back faster!
So, if you’re considering a more permanent, functional, and aesthetic solution for many missing teeth, we’d love to look after you.
Simply give us a call on 1800 GENTLE, DM us on social media, or complete the form on our website, and we’ll help you organise your consultation.
See you in the next video.
